Here’s what people are saying about the Peer Mentorship Program:

The Slack group is fantastic! It provides immediate access to some of the most known experts in the field; coming in contact with people that are happy to discuss any issues/worries I have and give their advice.
The peer mentorship was my first real involvement with WorkOnClimate, and it felt like a good way to start getting involved.
It was fun meeting more people trying to do similar things and with similar goals of combating climate change
I just had a meeting with [my peer mentor], it was very insightful and good to get perspective and knowledge on the space she was working in

Program FAQ

Each round will be a new topic of interest. This round we’ll be focusing on Agriculture Technology. The Peer Mentorship Program will last 4 weeks. After the program is complete, we ask that participants provide feedback on their experience. As a thank you, CTAN will host an exclusive Ask Me Anything style event with a Climate Tech Founder or CEO. This is a great opportunity to network within your field and attend a small and intimate event with a Founder.

What is Peer Mentorship?

Peer Mentorship is when two professionals in or interested in similar fields connect by discussing their personal goals, sharing resources, and providing insight wherever possible. Unlike the traditional Mentorship program, Peer Mentoring doesn’t have a designated Mentor or Mentee. Rather, matches are based on interests and are made more frequently. Think of it like advanced networking with intentional goals and outcomes. You’ll be given 2 matches during the one month program and it’s up to you if you want to take those connections further.

Why partner with Work on Climate?

Work on Climate is a well-established, action-oriented Slack community for people serious about climate work with over 6k members. We at CTAN are looking to help strengthen the connections within the community by offering our mentorship expertise. We’ll also be empowering participants with WoCl resources throughout the Peer Mentorship Program.

What should I expect for the Program?

After applying, you’ll get invited to the private Slack channel. You’ll be matched with two peers throughout the month and you’ll be setting up one, 30 minute phone call per match. The sessions are open ended but we will have some recommended topics and questions for you. You can also message each other throughout the process as well as other participants. After the program is over, we’ll ask for your feedback on your experience. Those who participated and provided feedback will be invited to the Meet the Founder event hosted by CTAN.

Why should I participate?

This is a unique opportunity to connect with professionals within your field or area of interest. Additionally, CTAN is taking mentorship to a new level - you can be apart of helping shape the future of our mentorship programs. And finally, the Meet the Founder event will be an intimate Ask Me Anything style event with a Founder in AgTech, giving you a great opportunity to ask all your questions and network further with people in your field.

Who can apply to the Peer Mentorship Program?

At this time we are looking for people currently working in or interested in Agriculture Technology. Whether you are already working in the field, or you’ve been in it for years, any level of experience is welcomed.

What do I talk about with my match in our Peer Mentorship Meetings?

That’s up to you and your match! We suggest you start with seeing what each other's goals are, as well as any gaps or areas within your career journey that are in need of support. Sharing resources and tips throughout will be encouraged as well. CTAN will provide a set of ice-breaker questions to help get the ball rolling. You’ll have the freedom to take it wherever you and your match see fit, and will have the support from CTAN if you’re feeling unsure of how to start.

What happens after the Program?

After providing your feedback about the program, you’ll be invited to the exclusive, Ask Me Anything style Meet the Founder Event. You’ll have access to the private slack channel for a few weeks after the program to make any additional connections outside your matches. Then we’ll start the process of a new mentorship round focusing on a different area of Climate Tech. You’re welcome to join as many Peer Mentorship rounds as you are interested in!
